Ana Rubio Mascaraque

 

Role: Newcomer Transition Coordinator

Ana Rubio Mascaraque joined SMUHSD in 2018, working at Bridge Academy as an advisor and at Hillsdale High School as an English Learner Specialist (ELS). She helped ML students to navigate the educational system and build strong relationships with both their peers and the Bridge staff. Through restorative circles, Ana guided students in developing essential life skills, such as welcoming new classmates, developing self-advocacy, resolving conflicts, and addressing issues like bullying. In the 2024-25 school year, Ana transitioned into a new role as the Newcomer Transition Coordinator at Bridge Academy. In this position, her primary focus is to ensure students' success and assist them in planning their next steps beyond Bridge. Ana is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for the students she serves. Ana holds a master's degree in law from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, ICADE (Spain), and an MBA from the University of Houston, which she has complemented with specialized training in restorative justice and bilingual mediation from PCRC. She worked as an international attorney for 18 years and spent two years as a bilingual mediator and facilitator.
