Teresa Deanda
Role: Social Worker
Teresa Deanda is a bilingual/cultural Social Worker. She has been working with children, youth and families of diverse backgrounds in the Bay Area since 2006. She has worked with at-risk youth as a Family Advocate and Case Manager, supported foster care youth as an Educational/Residential Counselor and has supervised an Early Intervention Program for children with special needs.
Teresa started in the district in 2021 as a School Social Worker for Multilingual students and was the first social worker in our district. She works from a strengths-based framework and is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and caring environment for students and strives to promote resiliency, overall wellness, and positive school transitions. Teresa believes that each student has a unique set of strengths that can be fostered through Hope, Love and Justice. Her focus as a school social worker is to bridge School, Home and Community in a culturally sensitive way to ensure that students are well supported. Teresa holds a B.A. in Social Work and Minor in Health Education from San Francisco State University and a Masters of Social Work and Pupil Personnel Services Credential from San Jose State University.
