Vanessa Aguayo

Role: Multilingual Specialist

Vanessa Aguayo has worked in education since 2004, serving as a Social Science teacher, Parent Engagement Coordinator, and Multilingual Learner Specialist. Vanessa holds her B.A. in History with a minor in Education from UC Berkeley, and M.A. in Education and Social Science teaching credential from Stanford University. Vanessa is a proud product and graduate of the San Mateo Union High School District, and as a daughter of Mexican immigrant parents she has always made it her priority to give back to the community she came from. She began her teaching journey at her alma mater, Capuchino High School where over 14 years she taught various social studies courses, including ELD history. She has served as the Multilingual Learner Specialist at the Bridge Academy and Peninsula High School since 2021 where she provides specialized outreach services to multilingual English Learners and their families, acting as liaison between students, families, and faculty. Vanessa looks forward to working with her Bridge Academy colleagues to foster student achievement and provide the resources needed to increase student motivation, academic, social and emotional success.
